It has been said that if you are into the type of town where you can have a romantic stroll and enjoy tapas while mingling with the locals, Empuriabrava may not be your cup of tea. The town may be just 40 years old, but there are many opportunities for romantic strolls by moon light along the extensive, fine sanded beach, its promenades and the paths along the rivers Muga and Salins. As for Empurabrava’s eating establishments, they are numerous and varied. Some small and intimate with a traditional menu, others more formal offering a modern menu inspired by the area. At the last count, 22 different regions of the world are culinary represented in Empuriabrava.However, Empuriabrava has so much more to offer than a stroll by moon shine or a great dining experience. Far and foremost the town is one of the largest marinas in the world. It has a network of attractive canals and many properties can be reached both by boat and by car. The water sport opportunities are endless, from lying at the beach and splashing around in the sea, to diving, water-skiing and sailing.
Skydive Empuriabrava, situated just outside the town, is Europe’s largest and busiest skydiving centre and one of the top three centres in the world. It has organised some of most prestigious events of the skydiving calendar and many international teams base their training camps in Empuriabrava. At the Skydiving school, freefalling is in everyone’s reach.
Empuriabrava is also a shopper’s paradise along the main boulevard, with its small boutiques offering anything you can think of, interspersed with a diverse array of eateries to rest your weary feet.
And should all this not be enough, Empuriabrava has good road connections to many places of interest in the area.
