Palau-saverdera
Known as the balcony of Alt Empordà, Palau-saverdera, a historic village in the foothills of the Pyrenees, has probably the most stunning views over nature reserve Aiguamolls de l’Empordà and the Bay of Roses. For a small village, Palau-saverdera has an impressive list of monuments, making a wander through the narrow streets a real pleasure. From old houses and castles to a church and ancient bridge, Palau is a real treat.
Situated between Roses and Vilajuïga, Palau-saverdera is an ideal starting point to explore the many hiking trails in surrounding area or to discover the picturesque fishing villages of the Costa Brava.
Palau-saverdera has several springs, with the Font de Dalt as its centre piece. It provides crystal clear spring water from deep down the rocky strata through a fountain in the middle of the village.
