Pau
A tiny village set in the rocky foothills of the Pyrenees, Pau has a long history of growing vines and olive trees. Though small, the village has some lovely old buildings worth visiting. The surrounding area is wild, at times rugged, and is fantastic hiking country.Over a period of time, the fusion of various co-operatives in Roses, Pau and Vilajuïga culminated in the establishment of Empordàlia, at the entrance of Pau, where past and present of working the local grapes and olives come together. Although a working bodega, it also boasts a museum and is the stage for many oenophile and culinary events.
